The Audi A8's success story started back in 1994. Innovative concepts such as the Audi Space Frame (ASF), the aluminium body, V8 engines with five valves per cylinder and quattro permanent four-wheel drive complemented the Audi A8's undating, contemporary styling and emphasised its unique standing in the premium segment competitive field.

With this long-wheelbase version, Audi now introduces a particularly luxurious Audi A8. Initially, it will be available with a powerful 228 kW (310 bhp) 4.2 litre five-valve V8 engine and with quattro permanent four-wheel drive and standard 5-speed tiptronic transmission. The A8 long-wheelbase model can be obtained from the middle of August onwards at a basic price of DM 146,500 incl. VAT (EUR 74,904.26). The German market launch is scheduled for the 4th quarter of 1999.
